Biographical notes
Angelo Petronella (1952) began his music career studying percussion and subsequently piano and
composition with teachers of the Academy of Music in Perugia. Later he studied electronic music at
the same Academy.
He studied Philosophy at the University of Perugia.
In Milan he attended courses in computer
music at the Computer Science Department of the Polytechnic and took the diploma of Electronic
Music.
He has been involved in setting up various organizations for producing and promoting electroacoustic and acousmatic music. He has held workshops on the relationship between space and sound at the Faculty of Architecture in Milan.
He has given concerts as mixer performer, playing his own works; he has composed music for
dance-theatre and video and has created sound art works (interactive or not).
In recent years, he
has created multi-channel installations in which he proposed his acousmatic music, arranging for its
diffusion in relation with the characteristics of the spaces that hosted it.
